Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana: If you’ve opened a Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) account to secure your daughter’s future, you won’t need to make frequent trips to the post office or bank to deposit funds anymore. You can easily transfer money to your Sukanya Samriddhi Account online from the comfort of your home using your mobile device. Whether your daughter’s account is with a bank (like SBI, PNB, HDFC) or a post office, here’s a straightforward way to transfer funds using both methods.
Method 1: For accounts in a bank
If your Sukanya Samriddhi Account is with a commercial bank, you can utilize your bank’s mobile app or online banking. Simply log in to your bank’s official mobile app or internet banking. Then, select the Fund Transfer or Pay & Transfer option from the main menu.
If this is your first time sending money, go to Add Beneficiary. Input your daughter’s SSY account number along with the IFSC code of the respective branch and save it. Once the account is set up, choose the beneficiary and enter the amount you wish to transfer (minimum Rs 250). Next, input your transaction PIN or the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. The amount will be credited to your account instantly. You can also enable the Auto-Debit feature in your app, allowing money to be automatically deposited into the Sukanya account on a specified date each month or year.
Method 2: For accounts at a post office
If your Sukanya Samriddhi account is at a post office, you can transfer money online using the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) app. Follow these steps:
Download the IPPB app from the Google Play Store or App Store and log in with your MPIN. Keep in mind that basic charges may apply when setting up a new account. After that, add the amount you want to deposit into your Sukanya Samriddhi Account to your IPPB account using UPI or a debit card.
After completing this process, scroll down on the app’s home screen and click on the DOP Services option. Select the Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) option from the list. Enter your SSY account number and Post Office Customer ID (DOP Customer ID) and click Continue.
Enter your desired amount and complete the transaction by entering the OTP received on your mobile.
Points to keep in mind when making an online transfer:
A minimum deposit of Rs 250 is mandatory in the Sukanya Samriddhi Account. After the transfer is successful, save the confirmation message or screenshot until you have it entered in your passbook. To keep the account active, make at least the minimum deposit each financial year (before March 31st).
