Subhadra Yojana: 1 crore women received Rs 5,000 each in their accounts; Have You Also Received?

Subhadra Yojana: Good news for women. The government has disbursed Rs 5000 as the fifth installment to over 1 crore women beneficiaries of the Subhadra scheme in Odisha. The total amount transferred by the state government is Rs 5160 crore. This time, the money was sent to the beneficiaries’ accounts on 28th August, with an additional 2.21 lakh women included in the list.

Under the Subhadra Yojana, women receive an annual amount of Rs 10,000 in two installments of Rs 5,000 each. The first installment is given on Raksha Bandhan and the second on International Women’s Day. Over five years, beneficiaries can receive up to Rs 50,000 through this scheme.

To check if the payment has been received, beneficiaries should monitor their bank statements for any transactions. If the money is not credited, they should verify their account and application details, as discrepancies can sometimes lead to payment delays.

The Subhadra Yojana was initiated in 2024 under the Department of Women and Child Development. Eligible women residing in Odisha can apply for this scheme under the National Food Security and State Food Security Act. Women aged between 21 and 60, earning less than Rs 2.5 lakh annually, are eligible. Those already receiving over Rs 1,500 per month through state programs or other financial aid like pensions are not qualified for this scheme.

Application forms for the Subhadra Yojana can be obtained from various centers like Anganwadi, block offices, and urban local body offices. Applicants need to provide accurate information, attach a passport-sized photo, self-attest necessary documents, and submit the application to the Common Service Center, ensuring to collect a receipt after submission.

New eligible girls of 21 years also benefit

Under the Subhadra Scheme, financial assistance is provided to eligible women between the ages of 21 and 60. New applicants who have attained the age of 21 and meet the other eligibility criteria may also be eligible for benefits. After verification, eligible new beneficiaries will be included in the scheme.
