SSC CHT Tier-I 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued an important update regarding the Tier-I exam for the Combined Hindi Translator Examination 2026. Due to a technical issue at an examination centre in Noida, the SSC has rescheduled the Tier-I exam for the Combined Hindi Translator Examination 2026. The exam will now be conducted on September 13. This change applies only to the ‘Aadarsh Pariksha Kendra’ located in Sector-155, Noida; it does not mean the SSC CHT Tier-I exam has been postponed for all centres.
The Commission has invited online applications for approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies. The last date to apply is October 7, 2026, and the deadline for online fee payment is 11:00 PM on October 8, 2026. The application correction window will be open from October 14 to October 16, 2026.
This recruitment drive aims to fill Group ‘C’ posts across various ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. These posts include Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and DEO Grade ‘A’.
SSC CHSL 2026: Educational Qualification and Age Limit
To be eligible for this recruitment, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university. They can apply for LDC, JSA, and general DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts. However, for specific DEO and DEO Grade ‘A’ posts in certain departments, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.
Regarding the age limit, candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age as of August 1, 2026. Candidates must have been born between August 2, 1999, and August 1, 2008. Age relaxation applies to eligible reserved-category candidates under government regulations.
Application Fee
The application fee for eligible General, OBC, and EWS male candidates is set at ₹100. Female candidates, as well as SC, ST, PwBD, and eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates, are exempt from paying the fee. Candidates can pay via BHIM UPI, net banking, or eligible debit cards.
Will a new admit card be issued?
The SSC has clarified that it will issue a new admit card to candidates who completed their registration at the respective exam centres on September 8. Candidates should regularly check the SSC Northern Region website for updates regarding the admit card and new instructions related to the examination.
Candidates must carry the revised admit card when appearing for the exam on the new date. Instead of relying on the old admit card to reach the exam centre, candidates should prioritise the information provided in the new admit card. The Combined Hindi Translator examination recruits personnel for Hindi translation-related posts across various Central Government ministries, departments, and offices.
