New Delhi: Preparations for the Indian Premier League are currently in full swing. The first match of the IPL is scheduled to be played on March 28, 2026, featuring a clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Before this, on Saturday—that is, today—the BCCI made a major announcement. The BCCI has released the schedule for the Indian team’s tour of Ireland.

The Indian team is set to tour Ireland in the month of June, where they will play a two-match T20 series. These matches are scheduled to take place at the Belfast Stadium in Ireland and hold significant importance. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the Indian team; he had previously played an excellent role as captain during the ICC T20 World Cup.

Know the Match Schedule

On Saturday, the BCCI announced the upcoming T20 series between India and Ireland. India’s first match is scheduled for June 26, while the second match will take place on June 28. Following this series, the Indian team will depart for a tour of England—a tour on which all eyes are currently fixed. Team India will play its first match on June 26, 2026, in Belfast; the match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time.

Team India to Face England in July

The T20 series between India and Ireland will conclude on June 28. Subsequently, the Indian cricket team will depart for England. A five-match T20 series is set to commence on July 1. The final match of the T20 series will be played on July 11 at The Ageas Bowl. This means that Team India will play a total of seven T20 International matches within a span of just 13 days.

India recently clinched its third T20 World Cup title, defeating New Zealand in the final match played in Ahmedabad to secure their second consecutive T20 World Cup victory. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, Team India scripted history by becoming the first nation to win this title on home soil. Furthermore, India became the first team to win two consecutive T20 World Cup titles.

India’s Performance Against Ireland

For the record, in head-to-head T20 encounters, India holds a significant advantage over Ireland. India boasts a 100 per cent win record. So far, eight T20 matches have been played between the two sides, with the Indian team winning every single one. Of these fixtures, six matches were played in Ireland itself.
