Yashasvi Jaiswal admitted in hospital

According to a media report, after the match, Jaiswal suddenly experienced severe stomach pain and was immediately taken to Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad for a medical examination. Doctors diagnosed him with acute gastroenteritis, after which Yashasvi was given intravenous medication. An ultrasound and CT scan were also performed as a precaution. He has been advised to rest and continue taking medication.

Despite his ill health, Jaiswal took the field in the evening and opened the batting for Mumbai. He was clearly uncomfortable at the crease. He scored 15 runs from 16 balls as Mumbai chased a daunting target of 217. In a thrilling match, Ajinkya Rahane’s unbeaten 72 and Sarfaraz Khan’s blistering 73 off 22 balls helped Mumbai win by three wickets.

Current update on his health

According to reports, Jaiswal was suffering from stomach cramps during the match, and the pain worsened after the match, requiring immediate medical attention. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet released an official update on his condition, but more information is expected today.

Yashasvi has scored 145 runs at a strike rate of 168.6 in three matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. He scored a brilliant century to help Mumbai chase down 235 against Haryana. This was followed by an impressive ODI series against South Africa, where he scored 156 runs in three matches. With no international commitments and no part of India’s current T20I setup, Jaiswal is expected to have plenty of time to recover.
