Sabudana Recipe: It is so much fun to have some spicy snacks with evening tea! If you are also bored of eating sabudana khichdi, then try something new this time. We are talking about crispy and delicious sabudana koftas! This is a snack that is crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside. You can eat it during fasting, or you can also give it to children in their school tiffin. So, without delay, let’s know how to make it.
To make sabudana kofta, you need these things:
1 cup sabudana (soaked for at least 4-5 hours)
2 boiled potatoes (medium size)
2 tablespoons roasted and ground peanuts
1 finely chopped green chilli
Salt (according to taste)
Oil for frying
How to make it:
First of all, soak sabudana in water overnight or at least for 4-5 hours. When it swells well, strain it and keep it aside.
Now in a large vessel, mix the swollen sago with boiled and mashed potatoes, finely chopped green chilies and ground peanuts. Add salt to it.
Knead this mixture well and make small round balls (koftas).
Now heat oil in a pan and fry these koftas on medium flame till they become golden and crispy.
If you want, you can eat these koftas directly with curd or green chutney, or you can also make their gravy.
Spicy gravy for koftas (optional):
If you want to make it more delicious, you can also make kofta curry. For this you need these ingredients:
1 cup curd
Half a teaspoon turmeric
Half a teaspoon red chili powder
Half a teaspoon rock salt
A pinch of asafoetida
1 tablespoon ghee
Finely chopped coriander leaves
Method of making gravy:
Heat ghee in a pan and add asafoetida to it.
Now in a separate bowl, mix turmeric, red chili and rock salt with curd and whisk well.
Put this curd mixture in hot ghee and keep stirring continuously so that the curd does not split.
You can thin the gravy by adding some water.
When the gravy is cooked, add fried koftas to it and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
Now garnish it with green coriander and serve with hot parathas or rice.
So this time instead of sabudana khichdi, definitely try this spicy sabudana kofta. It is easy to make and also tastes amazing!
