Indian Railway Update: For those travelling by train during the winter season, foggy weather can cause major problems. It is essential for passengers to check their train schedules before embarking on their journey. Due to dense fog and poor visibility, train speeds drop, and operators must run trains at a slower pace under such conditions. Consequently, some trains may be cancelled, or their frequency may be reduced.
The Railways has shared an update via its social media platform, ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), stating: “Important information for train passengers from December to March—please review the list of potential winter-season cancellations.” This means that anyone planning to travel between December 2026 and March 2027 should read this information carefully, as many train services will be affected during this period. Passengers are also advised to verify the status of their train before booking tickets or heading to the railway station.
