According to information shared by the MP Government on its official X (formerly Twitter) platform, over 60 lakh people have availed the benefits of this scheme so far, and more than 86.24 lakh applications have been received. These figures clearly indicate that people are benefiting from the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the associated subsidies. The primary objectives of the scheme are to provide free electricity, meet the country’s power supply needs, and alleviate the financial burden of electricity bills on the public.
How much subsidy is provided?
Regarding the subsidy under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, an individual installing a 1 kW solar panel receives a subsidy of ₹30,000. If an individual installs a 2 kW solar panel on their rooftop, they will receive a government subsidy of ₹60,000.
The government provides a subsidy of ₹78,000 for the installation of a solar panel with a capacity of 3 kW or higher. A key feature of this scheme is that both the central and state governments provide subsidies separately.

Next, click on ‘Apply Now’ and fill out the rooftop solar application form. Once your application is accepted, contact an official vendor listed on the portal. The installation process will be completed after contacting the vendor.
