Mumbai Rains – IMD Red Alert for 6 Districts Till July 6, Waterlogging Hits City

Mumbai Rain Alert: The monsoon has arrived in Delhi-NCR, though residents are still awaiting heavy rainfall. The Meteorological Department had already issued a rain alert for Saturday. Skies over Delhi-NCR have remained overcast since this morning, and some areas experienced rainfall in the afternoon. Heavy downpours were witnessed in several localities, including Delhi and Noida, bringing residents some relief from the heat.

Meanwhile, heavy rain continued across several parts of Maharashtra on Saturday. Persistent heavy rainfall has caused significant hardship for the public. Districts including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Kolhapur, Raigad, and Lonavala are facing issues such as widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions. Daily life has been thrown out of gear, and water has entered homes and shops in some areas.

Western Railway issued a fresh monsoon update for Mumbai on Saturday morning (July 4). According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in the city and its suburbs; indeed, heavy rainfall is currently underway, with the possibility of extremely heavy rain in isolated areas.
