LPG Price Cut: 5 Kg LPG Cylinder Becomes Cheaper, Know the New Rate

LPG Price Update: The beginning of July has brought a sense of relief to the general public with notable decreases in the prices of gas cylinders by government oil marketing companies such as Indian Oil (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum (BPCL). The reduction in prices includes a decrease of up to Rs 183 for commercial gas cylinders and significant relief for 5-kg small gas cylinders. Indian Oil has reported a Rs 13 decrease in the price of the 5-kg small gas cylinder in Delhi, bringing it down from Rs 821.50 to Rs 808.50.

– The price of a 5-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi has been reduced by Rs 13.
– Indian Oil has announced a price cut for both 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinders and 5-kilogram “Chotu” (FTL) cylinders used domestically starting today.

If you use a 5 kg ‘Chhotu’ cylinder at home or in your small shop, you will now experience a slight reduction in cost.

– Previous price in Delhi: Rs 821.50 per cylinder
– New price in Delhi (effective today): Rs 808.50 per cylinder
– Savings: Rs 13 per cylinder refill starting today

Indian Oil has also made a significant reduction in the price of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders. The price of a commercial cylinder has been slashed by Rs 183.50 compared to June 1st, making it available for Rs 2,930 in Delhi instead of Rs 3,113.50.

The increase in gas cylinder prices was attributed to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East causing global LPG prices to fluctuate significantly. This disruption in the supply chain has impacted LPG imports into India, where around 50% of LPG needs are imported.

Although the current reduction of Rs 183.50 in prices by the government and oil companies provides relief, the commercial cylinder is still 68.34% more expensive compared to February 1, 2026, with an increase of Rs 1,189.50. The recent price adjustments have brought relief to street vendors and small shop owners who rely on ‘Chhotu’ cylinders and commercial cylinders.

The government has reduced the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder by Rs 183.50. After this reduction, its price now stands at Rs 2,930, down from Rs 3,113.50 previously. The price of a 14.2-kg domestic gas cylinder remains unchanged. This year, for the first time, the price of commercial cylinders has decreased. In January 2026, its rate in Delhi was Rs 1691.50, which increased to almost double in June. Its rates increased twice in March 2026. On March 1, the commercial cylinder became costlier by Rs 28 and on March 7, it became costlier by Rs 114.50. In May, its rate increased by a huge Rs 993 and the price in Delhi reached Rs 3071.50 directly. On June 1, it became costlier by Rs 42.
