LPG Cylinder: If you are a student living in a rented house or have moved to another city for work, the 5 kg ‘Bharatgas Mini’ cylinder can be very useful. Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) has introduced this 5 kg LPG cylinder specifically for those who require a smaller quantity of gas for cooking. Its compact size makes it easy to transport. Let’s explore its features, how to purchase it, and the benefits it offers.
Features of the Bharatgas Mini Cylinder
The Bharatgas Mini cylinder has a capacity of 5 kg of LPG. It can be purchased from select petrol pumps and authorised sales centres. Furthermore, it requires minimal documentation—you only need to provide proof of identity. Unlike a standard domestic LPG connection, no proof of address is required. This option is particularly convenient for students, migrant workers, and individuals living alone.
How to Purchase
Contact your nearest Bharatgas distributor or an authorised petrol pump.
Carry an identity proof with you.
Enquire about the costs for the cylinder, regulator, and the gas itself.
Before purchasing, check its availability in your area and review the applicable terms and conditions.
Consumers can also find information about purchasing the 5 kg cylinder on the official Bharatgas website.
Is there a refund upon returning the cylinder?
BPCL provides a return facility for the 5 kg LPG cylinder connection. However, there has been no official confirmation of a policy that guarantees a 50% refund if the cylinder is returned within 5 years. In such cases, when purchasing a cylinder, be sure to ask the distributor for written details regarding the refund amount, the applicable timeframe, and the relevant terms and conditions.
How to Book via the HelloBPCL App
Bharat Petroleum has introduced the ‘HelloBPCL’ app, which provides access to a wide range of Bharat Gas services. These include gas booking, payments, and eKYC. However, you should verify—either through the app or by checking with the delivery person—whether the purchase or delivery of the 5 kg ‘BharatGas Mini’ cylinder is supported by the app.
