One Student One Laptop Yojna: Taking a step towards digital education, the Government of India has launched One Student, One Laptop Scheme 2025, which aims to provide digital support in technical education to students from economically weaker sections.
The scheme is being run by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and free laptops will be distributed to students studying in courses like engineering, management. Under this scheme starting from January 2025, students will be given laptops based on their academic performance and economic status. This initiative will prove to be a milestone in promoting digital education and reducing the rural-urban educational gap.

Eligibility Criteria
- Residence: The applicant must be a native of the country of India.
- Educational Qualification: 10th/12th pass and admission in an institute recognized by AICTE.
- Income Limit: Family income less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum.
- Course: Technical courses like engineering, management, diploma.
- Use of laptop: Only for educational activities.

Application Process
- Visit the “One Student, One Laptop Scheme” section on the official portal of AICTE.
- Create New Account
- Register with mobile number and email id.
- Get login credentials after OTP verification.
- Fill the Application Form
- Personal details (name, father’s name, date of birth).
- Educational details (course, college name).
- Bank Account and Income details.
- Upload scanned copies of all the required documents.
- Keep the size of photo and signature between 50KB-100KB.
Submit and take a printout
Keep the printout of the application form safe.
Note down the registration number to check the status in future.
