JEE Main 2026 Result 2026 Latest Update: Big news is coming for candidates waiting for the JEE Main Result 2026. According to a post released by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the JEE Main Session 1 result will be released on February 16, 2026. Over 1.3 million candidates are awaiting the JEE Main Session 1 result. The first session of JEE Main 2026 was held in January. The B.E./B.Tech papers were held from January 21 to January 29. There are no set passing marks for JEE Main. Candidates’ eligibility is determined based on the cut-off percentile. The JEE Main qualifying percentile for admission is determined based on the final answer key.

First, visit the official NTA JEE Main website, jeemains.nta.nic.in
click on the β€˜Final Results for JEE(Main) 2026 [Paper-1(B.E./B.Tech)] is Live!’ link.
Click on the β€˜Final Results for JEE(Main) [Paper-1(B.E./B.Tech)]’ direct link.
Now enter your application number, password, and captcha code.
Click the Submit button, and your scorecard will appear on the screen.
Download the scorecard and take a printout for future reference.

How is admission to IIT done?
After the JEE Main results are released, if you want admission to IIT, you will need to go through 7 steps.

Step 1 – It is mandatory to be among the top 2.50 lakh candidates.

Step 2 – First, you must register for JEE Advanced.

Step 3 – It is very important to score well in both JEE Advanced papers.

Step 4 – Based on a good rank in JEE Advanced, you must register for JoSAA counselling.

Step 5 – Choice filling and locking of your preferred IIT institute.

Step 6 – Adjusting the JoSAA counselling round 2 mock seat allotment.

Step 7 – Admission to IIT will be confirmed after document uploading, reporting, and admission confirmation in the counselling round.

Qualifying vs Admission Cutoff

The difference between the two concepts needs to be understood:

β€’ Qualifying cutoff – Minimum percentile needed to appear for JEE Advanced
β€’ Admission cutoff – Closing rank required for admission in NITs, IIITs and other colleges through counselling.
