Aadhaar-UAN Link: Almost every service related to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), be it withdrawal, KYC update or claim settlement, runs smoothly only when your UAN is linked to Aadhaar. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation verifies identity through Aadhaar to prevent fraudulent claims and speed up the process. If the linking is not done, the account may get restricted and the claim may get stuck. The good thing is that this work can be done online from home or even offline by visiting the EPFO office.
Benefits of linking Aadhaar with UAN
PF withdrawal, transfer and KYC updates will be easier.
Fraud can be prevented through UIDAI verification.
Claim processing will be faster and status can be easily tracked through SMS/portal.
How to link Aadhaar-UAN from home?
First of all go to EPFO Member Portal- https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/.
Log in with your UAN and password. If this is your first time, you will need to activate your UAN.
After logging in, go to the ‘Manage’ tab and click on ‘KYC’
Enter Aadhaar number and name.
Verification will be done by UIDAI. The status will appear as ‘Verified’ within two days.
The linking will be completed after getting approval from both the employer and UIDAI.
When will it be ‘verified’?
After submission, the data is sent to the Unique Identification Authority of India . The status is usually updated within 1–2 days. Once the portal displays ‘Verified by UIDAI’ and ‘Approved by Employer’, the linking is complete.
How to link offline?
If you don’t want to use technology, visit an EPFO office and fill out the Aadhaar seeding form. Attach self-attested copies of your UAN, PAN, and Aadhaar. After submitting the form, you will receive an SMS notification confirming the linking is complete.
Delay can cause PF to get stuck
Aadhaar-UAN mapping is free, easy, and time-saving. Ensure your personal details are consistent across all documents. This will speed up verification and ensure timely disbursement of your PF funds.
