ICC T20 World Cup 2026: The ICC T20 World Cup is currently resonating with cricket fans worldwide. Twenty teams are participating in the ICC World Cup. The ICC has also established strict rules, which are being violated and enforced. Meanwhile, the ICC has taken significant action against Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi.

Mohammad Nabi’s violation of the rules during the T20 World Cup against South Africa proved costly. The ICC fined him 15% of his match fee. A day earlier, on March 11th, a Super Over was played between South Africa and Afghanistan, in which South Africa won with a dominant performance. The ICC also provided significant information in its statement about why Mohammad Nabi was fined. You can learn more about this below.

Delicious dishes and self-reliance schemes are underway.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) stated in a statement that Afghanistan’s Nabi was found guilty of violating Article 2.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “disobeying an umpire’s instructions during an international match.” The incident occurred in the 14th over of the Afghan innings.

Chasing a target of 188, Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz had batted brilliantly, scoring 84 runs in 42 balls. When he was dismissed, the match was in limbo. Mohammad Nabi, the most experienced player in the team, was expected to lead the team to victory. But that was not to be. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs in just 6 balls. Before being dismissed, he clashed with the umpire at the start of the 14th over.

What was the matter?

The 14th over was bowled by South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi, who was wearing wristbands on both his hands. It was light yellow, like the South African team’s jersey. However, Nabi thought it was white and asked the umpire to remove it. Nabi was visibly upset during this period, while Ngidi, upon realising Nabi was protesting, immediately removed it.

South Africa Wins in Super Over

Chasing a target of 188, Afghanistan were all out for 187. The match ended in a tie, leading to a Super Over. Both teams’ scores remained equal, leading to a second Super Over. Batting first, South Africa scored 23 runs.

During this period, Mohammad Nabi came to bat for Afghanistan. However, after playing a dot ball on the first ball, he was dismissed on the next ball and returned to the pavilion. Gurbaz then hit three consecutive sixes to revive the match, but he was dismissed on the final ball.
