Kia Sorento Variant List Leaked – 6/7-Seat Configs Revealed Ahead of September 4 Launch

Kia Sorento Variant List: Kia’s new Sorento is expected to launch in the Indian SUV market on September 4th, and its variant list has already been leaked ahead of the launch. Notably, it won’t be limited to just petrol engines or a single seating layout; options may include diesel and hybrid powertrains, FWD and AWD configurations, and both 6-seater and 7-seater layouts. The leaked list reveals several variants ranging from HTE to Black-Line. Let’s explore the details and understand what makes this vehicle special.

Variants

The Kia Sorento could launch in the Indian market with HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK(A), HTX, HTX(A), and Black-Line trims. The entry-level 7-seater range will start with the HTE variant, followed by HTE(O), HTK, and HTK(A). Meanwhile, higher-end variants like the HTX and HTX(A) may offer an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option.

Engine

One of the Sorento’s standout features could be its engine options. According to leaked information, the SUV may come equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine. This engine is expected to generate approximately 202 PS of power and 441 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed DCT gearbox.

Hybrid Engine

In addition to the diesel option, the Sorento is expected to feature a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain. This setup could deliver around 240 PS of combined power and 380 Nm of torque. The hybrid system will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. With the rising demand for hybrid SUVs, Kia aims to stay competitive in this segment.

FWD and AWD

The Kia Sorento will offer both FWD and AWD configurations, enhancing its versatility. The entry-level variants may feature a road-oriented FWD setup, while higher-end variants are likely to offer AWD—a better choice for those seeking greater confidence on rough roads, in hilly areas, or across diverse terrain.

6- and 7-Seater Options

The Sorento is expected to offer a 6-seater configuration alongside the standard 7-seater layout. While the 7-seater version accommodates more passengers, the 6-seater model may feature captain seats in the second row, offering enhanced comfort and personal space.

Color Options

The vehicle will be available in nine colour options. These include shades such as Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Red, Pewter Olive, Ivory Silver Gloss, and Aurora Black Pearl. Additionally, a Matte Graphite colour option might be reserved exclusively for the higher-end variants.
