Kia Carnival Hybrid: Kia has shared a significant update for premium MPV buyers in India. The company has opened pre-bookings for the Carnival Hybrid, and its launch is imminent. Details regarding its powertrain and specifications have already been revealed. Let’s take a closer look at the details and the expected launch timeline.
1.6-Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine
The Kia Carnival Hybrid will feature a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid engine—a setup shared with the Kia Sorento Hybrid. The petrol engine alone produces 180 hp and 265 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine and electric motor combine to deliver superior performance. The powertrain is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the existing 2.2-litre diesel engine will also remain part of the Carnival lineup. This engine delivers 193 hp and is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, giving customers a choice between hybrid and diesel options.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Exterior Design
In terms of design, Kia has not made major changes to the Carnival Hybrid’s exterior. A new ‘HEV’ badge on the tailgate will serve as a distinguishing feature.
The rest of the design remains identical to the diesel Carnival, featuring Kia’s signature ‘tiger-face’ grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, and DRLs. Additionally, it retains powered sliding doors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and connected LED taillights.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Features
Notable features include a virtual engine sound system and retractable, height-adjustable seat-back tables, which also incorporate wireless phone charging.
The cabin houses dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and driver information. It also offers 3-zone climate control and a 12-speaker Bose sound system, delivering the comfort and entertainment expected from a premium MPV.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Safety
Kia has also enhanced safety in the Carnival Hybrid. It comes equipped with 8 airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It also features front and rear disc brakes and a 360-degree camera.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Price
Kia has not yet announced the official price of the Carnival Hybrid. Currently, the Carnival Limousine+ diesel is priced at ₹59.65 lakh (ex-showroom). With hybrid technology and additional powertrain hardware, its price is expected to be higher than the diesel model.

Kia has now opened pre-bookings for the Carnival Hybrid. This MPV will be available in the Limousine+ trim, which is currently offered with the diesel powertrain.
