Karva Chauth 2026 on October 29 – As soon as the name of Karva Chauth comes up, a different glow appears on the faces of married women. Stay waterless the whole day and pray for the long life of your husband, that too without any complaint. Now that Karva Chauth of 2026 is just around the corner, there is only one question revolving in everyone’s mind – whether Bhadra is haunted this time or not? And what time will the moon rise? Well, today we will answer all these questions of yours in very clear and simple language.
Exact date of Karva Chauth 2026: 28th or 29th October?
First of all, clear this confusion. In many places, you might have heard about 28th October, but according to the calendar, the correct date is 29th October 2026, Thursday. Kartik Krishna Chaturthi Tithi will start on October 29 at 01:06 am and will continue till 10:09 pm the same night. Since Udaya Tithi is falling on 29th October, the fast will be observed on this day.
Shadow of Bhadra: This time there is good news
Now coming to the biggest relief news. This time there is no shadow of Bhadra on Karva Chauth. According to Pandit Narendra Upadhyay, Bhadra will start at 05:31 am on October 28 and will last only till 04:27 am on October 29. This simply means that when you wake up in the morning and eat sargi or do puja in the evening, there will be no effect of Bhadra Kaal. You can perform all your rituals peacefully without any restriction.
Auspicious time of puja: Note this time
Karva Chauth puja is usually performed in the evening, after sunset. This time you are getting about one and a quarter hours of good time for puja:
Puja Muhurta: 05:38 PM to 06:56 PM.
Apart from this, if you want to complete any work in the morning Muhurta, then Brahma Muhurta will be from 04:58 to 05:46 in the morning and Amrit Kaal will be from 08:17 to 09:44 in the morning.
When will the moon come out? (time of moonrise)
The eyes, troubled by hunger and thirst, search only for the moon throughout the day. According to the calendar, the moon will rise at 08:17 pm on October 29. Just keep in mind that there may be a slight difference in the time of moonrise in different cities, so definitely check the local almanack of your city once. Break the fast only after offering Arghya to the moon.
A little advice
Though Karva Chauth is for the long life of your husband, take care of your health also. Eat light and nutritious food during Sargi so that you have energy for the whole day. And yes, set all the puja items well in advance, so that there is no rush in the evening.
Then get ready, dress up and worship Karva Mata on 29th October and complete your fast with the sight of the moon. Happy Karva Chauth to all the married women!
