West Bengal Assistant Teacher Vacancy 2025 Opens : The big recruitment process of assistant teacher in the state schools has started in 2025. West Bengal School Service Commission has started taking applications under the second phase of State Level Selection Test (SLST). The registration link has been activated on the website from the evening of 16 June 2025 and now interested candidates can fill their application online. Thousands of teachers will be appointed under this process.
Total number of posts and categories
This time the commission has announced recruitment for a total of 35,726 posts. Out of these, 23,212 posts are reserved for secondary schools i.e. class 9 and 10. At the same time, the remaining 12,514 posts will be filled for class 11 and 12 in higher secondary schools. Essential Qualification and Educational Eligibility
Candidates who want to apply for these posts must have the prescribed educational qualification and training. If a candidate wants to apply for class 9 and 10, then he should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized university. Along with this, there should also be a B.Ed degree, in which minimum 50 percent marks are mandatory. At the same time, if a candidate is applying for the teacher post of class 11 and 12, then he must have a master’s degree in the relevant subject. Apart from this, B.Ed degree is also mandatory and it should be from a recognized teacher training institute.

Then the candidate has to login by entering his candidate ID, mobile number and password. After logging in, they have to fill the requested information and upload the documents. Application fee and payment information
After applying, it is also necessary to pay the fee. The application fee for general and OBC category candidates has been kept at ₹ 500, while Scheduled Caste, Tribe and Divyang candidates will have to pay ₹ 200. This fee will be paid online only.
Last date and probable date of examination
It is important for all the candidates who want to participate in this recruitment process to complete everything before the last date of application. The last date to apply has been fixed as 14th July 2025. The fee will also have to be paid by this date. The examination is likely to be conducted by the Commission in the first week of September.
