Jio AI Glasses: Now Make UPI Payments Without Using Your Smartphone, How?

Jio Ai Glass: You’ve probably watched Marvel’s superhero films, right? Think of Iron Man and his incredibly smart glasses that deliver all the information you need with just a voice command. Well, Jio has launched something equally impressive—a product that lets you make UPI payments with a simple gesture, no need to pull out your phone or scan anything manually. At the India Mobile Congress 2026, Jio unveiled this cutting-edge innovation. Their personal AI wearable collection includes camera glasses, audio glasses, and earphones packed with amazing capabilities. You’ll get features such as scan and pay, an AI voice assistant, support for multiple Indian languages, instant live translation, AI-powered note taking, and live cricket commentary.

The standout feature of this AI product has to be Scan & Pay. Picture this: your phone stays in your pocket while you simply hold a QR code in front of you. Jio’s camera glasses read the UPI QR code, you give a voice command, confirm the transaction, and boom—payment complete. You can process individual payments up to Rs 5,000 using UPI Circle. Keep in mind, Jio didn’t set this limit—it comes from UPI Circle’s guidelines. However, you’re allowed to make up to Rs 15,000 in transactions monthly through this system.

How does payment work with the Glass?
When you’re shopping and using these glasses to pay, you skip all those tedious steps—no more digging for your phone, unlocking it, launching the app, and scanning the QR code. Here’s what makes it special: AI isn’t just answering your questions like a typical assistant. Instead, it becomes a powerful technology that responds to your commands. Jio’s vision is to bring AI out from your phone’s screen and keyboard into your voice and daily activities. Beyond payments, another fantastic feature of Jio AI Glass is live translation. Imagine two people speaking completely different Indian languages being able to understand each other perfectly through the wearable. You speak in your language, they speak in theirs, and the AI handles all the translation work in between.

Preparing to move beyond payments

Jio believes that it doesn’t just stop at payments and translation. AI note-taking is available to ensure you don’t miss out on important points during meetings. Live cricket commentary is also available if you want to stay connected to matches on the go. Whether it’s an office meeting or the thrill of cricket, the effort to reduce the need to repeatedly check your mobile is clearly visible. Jio says that the purpose of these wearables is to simplify everyday tasks by increasing productivity and knowledge through AI.

Jio believes that its focus is on voice and Indian languages, enabling users to access AI and digital services in their own languages. This showcase by Jio gives a glimpse of the next era of wearable tech. The idea of smart glasses is not new, but features like UPI payments, Indian languages, live translation, AI note-taking, and cricket commentary bring them closer to Indian users.
