Once again, weather conditions in several states across the nation are expected to deteriorate, potentially leading to a spell of rain and thunderstorms.

Weather conditions are also expected to take a turn for the worse in the hilly states, where the likelihood of continued rainfall remains high. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across numerous parts of the country.
Weather Outlook for Northwest India
According to the Meteorological Department, the pre-monsoon season in Northwest India could unfold in a dramatic manner. The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall at several locations across Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh on April 29 and 30.
Furthermore, there remains a possibility of light rainfall in many areas. During this period, strong winds gusting at speeds of 30–40 kilometres per hour are expected. Alerts have also been issued regarding dust storms and thunderstorms. Additionally, hailstorms are anticipated in several regions.
Weather in East and Central India
According to the IMD, a shift in weather patterns is likely across East and Central India. The IMD has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms and squalls in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, West Bengal, and Sikkim on April 29 and 30.
In addition to these regions, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for several locations in Odisha and Jharkhand. Many districts are likely to experience strong winds blowing at speeds of 30–50 kilometres per hour. Furthermore, there is a possibility of dust storms, thunderstorms, and hailstorms in certain areas.
Rain Forecast for Southern States
The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across the southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. In addition to these areas, heavy rainfall is forecast for Mahe, Yanam, Karaikal, and Rayalaseema on April 29 and 30. A warning has also been issued regarding strong winds blowing at speeds of 30–50 kilometres per hour, accompanied by thunder and lightning.

According to the Meteorological Department, pre-monsoon activity is expected to intensify across Northeast India. The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram on April 28, 29, and 30. Furthermore, a warning has been issued for heavy showers accompanied by thunder and lightning in Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, and Nagaland. There is also a likelihood of dust storms occurring in these regions.
