Rajkumar Silawal, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Security at Kathmandu Airport, provided significant details to ANI. He stated that Turkish Airlines flight TK 726 was arriving in Kathmandu from Istanbul when one of its tyres caught fire during the landing process.

The fire was brought under control following a strenuous effort by the fire department team. All passengers have been safely evacuated. According to officials, a total of 278 passengers and 11 crew members were on board the aircraft. The passengers included several United Nations officials.
