Pakistan Conducts Airstrikes in Afghanistan, 19 Killed, Latest Update

New Delhi: Pakistan has claimed to have destroyed several terrorist hideouts in an airstrike in Afghanistan along the border. The airstrike targeted terrorist hideouts, reportedly killing 19 people. It stated that Afghan terrorists who carried out suicide attacks in Pakistan were taught a lesson.

The Pakistani government has claimed the airstrike. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar shared this information in a post on the social media platform X on Sunday morning. He wrote in the post that the army conducted intelligence-based, selective operations against seven camps belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliates.

He also stated that action was taken against a group affiliated with the Islamic State in the border area. Pakistan has not yet disclosed the exact location of the airstrike. Social media reports claim the attacks occurred within Afghanistan. The Afghan government has also stated that the attack.

The Afghan government has called the Pakistani airstrike a cowardly act. The government claimed that the Pakistani army targeted a madrasa, killing 19 of its members. Afghanistan responded strongly and threatened retaliation.

Tolo News, citing sources, reported that the Pakistani Air Force attacked a religious madrasa in the Barmal district of Afghanistan’s Paktika province on Saturday. Pakistani jets also carried out several airstrikes in the Khogyani district of Nangarhar province. Barmal and Arghun in Paktika, as well as the Khogyani, Bahsod, and Ghani Khel districts of Nangarhar, were also targeted.
