Monsoon Alert: Monsoon rains have halted the pace of life in many areas these days. Landslides are being seen in hilly areas due to rain. Traffic is also disrupted due to debris falling on the roads. There are many such routes in Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand, where rocks have slid down and the passersby are facing problems due to the debris.

It is raining heavily in the plains of North India too. It has been raining heavily since morning in many areas of western UP, where people have got relief from the heat due to the drop in temperature. Clouds have camped in the capital, Delhi,  and adjoining areas. It is raining in many areas of Bihar and Jharkhand. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in various parts of the country.

How will the weather be in UP and Bihar?

If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, the day of July 10 is not going to be easy in UP. IMD has predicted heavy rains in 15 districts, including Meerut, Lucknow, Agra, Ballia, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Muzaffarnagar, and Saharanpur. Along with lightning at many places, wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph is also expected here.

Given the possibility of lightning, people have been asked to stay indoors. Apart from this, a yellow alert for rain has been issued for 11 districts of Bihar. There is also a possibility of a storm along with rain in some places in Bihar. A rain alert has been issued in East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj and Siwan. IMD has also issued a warning of heavy rain in Saran, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, Banka, Munger and Bhagalpur.

Heavy rain alert in these states

The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning of heavy rain in many states of the country. Heavy rains may occur at many places in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Goa. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Apart from these, rain may occur in most parts of Odisha, Assam, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. A rain alert has been issued in Sikkim, Manipur and Mizoram along with thunderstorms. Rain is expected in many parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Puducherry and Nagaland.
