Monsoon Alert – Weather conditions across several states in the country have remained quite adverse recently, leading to rainfall in some areas and storms accompanied by hailstorms in others. The intermittent rain has also brought relief to people from the scorching heat. Between April 14 and April 18, various regions may witness spells of rain. In Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, bright sunshine prevails alongside breezy conditions; temperatures here are expected to rise further. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a warning for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning has been issued for several states, valid until April 18. Warning for Heavy Rainfall in These States

According to the IMD, spells of rain may be observed in certain pockets of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh on April 14, 15, 16, and 17. Additionally, rain alerts have been issued for Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sikkim, and Tamil Nadu.

The IMD has also issued rain warnings for Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mahe, Puducherry, Rayalaseema, Karaikal, and Assam. Furthermore, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, and Nagaland. Alerts have been issued for strong winds, dust storms, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and potential hailstorms in several districts within these regions.

Weather Outlook for Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi's temperature is expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees starting April 14. Hot, dry winds (heatwave-like conditions) are expected to blow during the afternoon hours, necessitating caution. Tomorrow, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is projected to hover around 23 degrees Celsius.

Weather Outlook for Uttar Pradesh (UP)

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Uttar Pradesh on April 14. The scorching intensity of the summer heat is now expected to be witnessed across several districts. These include Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Shamli, Baghpat, Hapur, Bijnor, Bareilly, Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Deoria, and Mirzapur. Lucknow, too, may experience severe heat. Forecasts indicate that the maximum temperature here is likely to hover around 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 23 degrees Celsius.

Mercury Set to Rise

The summer season has now fully set in across several states. The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has predicted a gradual rise of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures across several states in Northwest India—including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan—by April 18. In Madhya Pradesh, temperatures are expected to rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius by April 15. Furthermore, a rise of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius is anticipated in the Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh regions.
