UP Monsoon Alert: The weather in Uttar Pradesh is experiencing significant changes, with dense fog in some areas and chilly winds making people shiver in others. Winds in some parts of the state have increased the morning and evening chill. The mild air is causing temperatures to drop.
Dense fog is engulfing Delhi NCR and western Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog has significantly reduced visibility in most areas of Moradabad, Amroha, and Bijnor, causing difficulties for pedestrians. Fog has also reduced visibility to zero in Agra, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, and Kanpur.

Dense Fog Alert in These Districts
According to the IMD, an orange alert for dense fog has been issued for 13 districts of the state for Thursday. According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at the Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, the effect of the Western Disturbance is weakening. From Friday, westerly winds with speeds of 15 to 20 kilometres per hour are expected across the state.
This could further reduce night temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The dense fog will gradually decrease. Sambhal district, adjacent to Moradabad, received the highest rainfall, recording 73.9 mm of rain. Meerut recorded 51.8 mm of rain. Baghpat recorded 41.3 mm of rain. The change in weather after the rain has further increased the feeling of cold.

According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog will prevail in Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, and Lakhimpur Kheri. In addition, dense fog is expected in Saharanpur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, and surrounding areas. Fog is also expected in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, and Bhadohi.

Fog is expected in Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Gonda, Sitapur, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, and Shamli. Dense fog is also expected in Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya, and Amroha. Fog is expected to persist in Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Lalitpur.
