New Delhi: Temperatures have dropped across most parts of North India following light to moderate rainfall. A chill in the air is still palpable, even in the month of April. People have once again started wearing warm clothing during the mornings and evenings. There has been no respite yet from the inclement weather prevailing across North India; specifically, on April 9—that is, today—there remains a possibility of thunderstorms and rain.

Weather alerts warning of deteriorating conditions have been issued for 13 states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as well, there appears to be absolutely no immediate hope for relief from the adverse weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and squalls across 13 states of the country.
