New Delhi: The situation in Pakistan’s Balochistan province remains dire. Bloodshed is rampant throughout the region. These are the worst conditions seen in recent years, with the Pakistani army clashing with Baloch insurgents. At least 31 people have reportedly been killed in attacks by the insurgents so far.
In response, the Pakistani army launched an operation and killed 145 Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) insurgents. In short, Pakistan is turning into a killing field. The Pakistani government has imposed various restrictions to control the instability. According to reports, several services, including the internet, have been restricted. Despite this, the Baloch insurgency and the army remain locked in a confrontation.

Many Security Personnel Killed
The situation in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province appears to bespirallingg out of control. Provincial Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced on Sunday that at least 145 terrorists and 17 security personnel have been killed in various counter-terrorism operations in the province over the past 40 hours. Bugti told a press conference in Quetta that the bodies of all 145 terrorists are in the custody of the authorities, and the process of identification is underway.
Government Suspends Services
To bring the situation under control in the volatile Balochistan, the government has completely shut down internet services. Train services have also been suspended. Furthermore, several roads have been closed.

On Sunday, the streets and markets remained deserted. Balochistan Liberation Army fighters had attacked jails, military bases, and government buildings. A Deputy District Magistrate was also abducted.
People Living in Fear
In Pakistan’s Balochistan province, a region already struggling with poverty and instability, the situation has become even worse. The situation in Balochistan is such that if someone leaves their home, there’s no guarantee they’ll return.

Hamdullah, a shopkeeper in Quetta, said that people are only able to leave their homes at great risk. They go out, but there’s no certainty they’ll return home safely. The Pakistani army is conducting search operations to teach the insurgents a lesson. Bugti said that a war against terrorism is underway in the province, waged by the security forces. A large number of terrorists have been killed so far.
