New Delhi: Singer Asha Bhosle, who reigned over the hearts of people in the music world with her melodious voice, has merged with the five elements. The sight of her final farewell left everyone with teary eyes. Her last rites were performed with full state honours at the Shivaji Park crematorium. From politicians to actors, dignitaries from various fields paid their last respects and offered floral tributes.

She was accorded a Guard of Honour by the Maharashtra Police. Bollywood singers gave her an emotional send-off by singing the poignant song, "Abhi Na Jao Chhodkar.  Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92.

She breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Her demise has left the film fraternity, as well as her family, in deep shock. Numerous prominent figures from the country's political and other spheres—including Prime Minister Narendra Modi—expressed their condolences.

Politicians, Bollywood stars, and music enthusiasts have paid their tributes to her, and a wave of mourning has swept across the entire nation.
