Income Tax Refund to 2026 – Refund up to Rs 50,000 now in 24-48 hours

The Income Tax Department has intensified the process of processing ITR and issuing refunds. Now, in direct and low-risk cases with refund up to Rs 50,000, the refund will reach the taxpayer’s account within 24 to 48 hours. In refunds of more than 50 thousand, documents are matched, which can take 2-3 weeks. Secondary address has now been made mandatory in the ITR form, especially for HRA claimants. E-verification of ITR is required to get the refund.
