Hyundai Bayon CNG testing begins:- Hyundai is all set to introduce the CNG variant of the Bayon SUV in the Indian market. The Hyundai Bayon CNG has been spotted testing recently. The company has confirmed the launch of this new variant in January 2027. The Bayon CNG will be Hyundai’s first 4-metre-tall SUV in India, with the option of factory-fitted CNG. So let’s know about it in detail.
Launch date and price
Hyundai Bayon CNG will be launched in India in January 2027. The company has not shared any details about the price and availability of the device as of yet. However, according to initial estimates, its ex-showroom price is expected to start from around ₹11.20 lakh.
At present, the price of the Hyundai Bayon with a petrol engine ranges from ₹10 lakh to ₹18.15 lakh. After the arrival of the CNG variant, the company will also try to attract people who travel long distances daily and want to reduce their fuel expenditure.
1.5-litre engine
Hyundai Bayon is powered by a single 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine produces 113 bhp of power and 143.8 Nm of torque.
According to reports, the same engine can be used in Bayon CNG. Its CNG power and torque may be lower than petrol, but the output will be clear only after the company’s official announcement.
505 litres of boot space
Boot space is one of the biggest concerns when buying a CNG car. In many cars, CNG cylinders reduce the storage space. The Hyundai Bayon CNG can be given an underbody CNG tank to reduce this problem. If this layout is used, the SUV’s 505-litre boot space could remain the same as the petrol variant.
competition
Once launched, the Hyundai Bayon CNG will rival the Maruti Suzuki Victor CNG. The ex-showroom price of the Victoris CNG ranges from ₹11.55 lakh to ₹14.67 lakh. At the same time, the starting price of Bayon CNG is expected to be around ₹11.20 lakh.
