Good News for Farmers! 1,750 PACS to Become PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras

Bihar Farmer Scheme: Both the central and state governments operate numerous schemes to benefit farmers. Currently, the Bihar government is offering a special facility for this purpose. To ensure that farmers have easy access to essential agricultural resources, the state’s Cooperative Department has converted 1,750 PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) into ‘PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras’ (PMKSK). The primary objective of this government initiative is to provide farmers with fertilisers, seeds, and other essential agricultural services in one place, so they do not have to visit multiple locations.

All agricultural facilities are available in one place.
Through these PACS—now developed as PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras—farmers can access high-quality fertilisers, seeds, and other necessary farming inputs. This system simplifies agricultural preparations and saves time. Furthermore, these centres provide farmers with information on new agricultural technologies and methods to improve their farming practices.

What is a PACS?
PACS stands for ‘Primary Agricultural Credit Society’. These are cooperative societies that operate at the Gram Panchayat level. Their core objective is to assist farmers by providing support for agricultural activities and essential services. Through these societies, farmers can obtain loans, seeds, and various other farming-related resources.

Benefits for farmers
This government initiative ensures that farmers can access all necessary agricultural inputs and services in a single location, saving both time and travel expenses. Additionally, by utilising facilities such as information on modern farming techniques and soil testing, farmers will be better equipped to make informed decisions that are tailored to the specific needs of their land and crops.
