The occasion was to remember legendary actor Dharmendra, who recently passed away. As soon as Salman mentioned “He-Man” Dharmendra, his eyes welled up with tears. It was a moment that moved the audience.
Why did Salman Khan get emotional?
Salman Khan explained how personal Dharmendra’s passing was for him. He revealed that Dharmendra passed away on November 24th, which also happens to be Salman’s father, Salim Khan’s birthday.

With a heavy voice and tears in his eyes, Salman said:
“Dharmendra ji passed away on the 24th. It was my father’s birthday. If I’m feeling so sad, imagine what Sunny, Bobby, Hema ji, Prakash ji, Esha and Ahana must be going through.” This clearly shows how deep and heartfelt Salman’s relationship with Dharmendra and his family is. He even said that Dharmendra ji’s funeral was one of the best.
