What is the film’s spine-chilling story?

The film’s story is based on the famous novel by Thomas Harris. It follows a young FBI trainee, Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), who is trying to catch a serial killer named ‘Buffalo Bill’ who skins his female victims.

To catch this killer, Clarice has to seek help from another dangerous criminal—Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). Hannibal is no ordinary criminal, but a highly intelligent psychiatrist who is a cannibal. The mind games he plays with Clarice while sitting behind bars are the heart and soul of this film.
