RBSE Half Yearly Exam 2025. The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) half-yearly examinations for classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 have begun across the state today. According to instructions issued by the School Education Department, this year the examinations are being conducted under a uniform system across the state.

The examinations will be held in two shifts, giving students the opportunity to prepare better and take the exams at their convenience.

Exams to be held in two shifts
RBSE has scheduled two shifts for the half-yearly examinations.
- First shift: 9:30 am to 12:45 pm
- Second shift: 1:15 pm to 4:30 pm
On the first day of the examination, the compulsory English exam for classes 9 and 11 will be conducted in the first shift. The compulsory English exam for classes 10 and 12 will be conducted in the second shift.
The board has made special arrangements for the security of question papers. All question papers will be delivered from police stations and outposts 30 minutes before the exam begins. Each envelope will be protected in double-layer packing, similar to board exams.
Which class will be exam in which shift?
This time, RBSE has scheduled class-wise shifts to ensure smooth conduct of the exam.
- Class 9th: Exam in the first shift
- Class 10th: Exam in the second shift
- Class 11th and 12th: Exams on different days in both shifts
This shifting arrangement reduces the burden on students and provides them with balanced time for preparation.
How much syllabus will the exam cover?
The Education Department has also issued clear guidelines regarding the syllabus this time.
- Classes 9th and 11th: Exams based on 70% of the syllabus
- Classes 10th and 12th: Questions will be asked from 100% of the syllabus
- Classes 1 to 8: Exams based on 60% of the syllabus
This syllabus pattern aims to gradually prepare students for the final exams.

Uniform State-Level Examination System
This year, for the first time, the half-yearly exams are being conducted under a uniform state-level examination system. This will ensure the same level and timing across all schools, enhancing transparency and fairness. The distribution of question papers, security arrangements, and conduct of exams have been designed in accordance with the format of board exams.
