CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Begins – Direct Link to Check Full Schedule

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam: The CBSE Class 10 second board examinations have commenced today, May 15. A total of 668,854 candidates are appearing for this examination. Additionally, 85,285 students will take the compartment examination.

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 second board examination has commenced today, Friday. The first paper of the examination is Mathematics. Approximately 6.68 lakh students are appearing for the examination this time. According to the Board, the examination will be conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026. Most of the examinations will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

The Two-Exam System
Starting in 2026, CBSE has implemented a two-edition examination system for Class 10. Under this system, appearing for the first examination is mandatory for all students. Conversely, the second examination has been designated as an opportunity for those students who wish to improve their marks or who have fallen into the ‘Compartment’ category.

Total Number of Participating Students
According to statistics, a total of 6,68,854 regular students have applied for the second examination. Of these, more than 5.25 lakh students are appearing for the exam solely to improve their marks. Meanwhile, over 85,000 students have registered under the Compartment category. Several students have applied under both the Improvement and Compartment categories.
