If you haven’t yet connected your LPG gas connection with your Aadhaar number, you could be missing out on several important government benefits and services. The Indian government is actively encouraging this linking process to boost service efficiency and significantly reduce fraudulent activities.
By linking your Aadhaar, you’ll not only ensure timely delivery of your LPG cylinders but also guarantee that you receive any applicable subsidies directly. Whether your gas provider is a public or private distributor, linking your Aadhaar has become a crucial step for a smoother and more secure LPG experience. Here’s a simple guide on how you can complete this important task online.
Online Linking Process (Step-by-Step)
The most convenient way to link your Aadhaar with your LPG connection is through the online portal. Just follow these straightforward steps:
- First, navigate to the official UIDAI website.
- From the “Benefit Type” options, select ‘LPG’.
- Choose your specific gas provider from the scheme list (for example, select ‘IOCL’ for Indane).
- Select your local distributor and input your LPG consumer number.
- Provide your mobile number, email address, and Aadhaar details.
- Submit the information and wait for OTP verification.
- Enter the One-Time Password (OTP) you receive on your registered mobile number and email.
- Finally, await confirmation after the official verification process is complete.
Offline Submission Options
If you encounter any difficulties with the online process, don’t worry – there are alternative methods to link your Aadhaar.
-
Visiting Your Distributor’s Office: You can visit your nearest LPG distributor’s office in person. You will need to provide a copy of your Aadhaar card along with your LPG connection details. This method ensures you can easily link your connection and benefit from government subsidies.
- Obtain the subsidy form from your distributor’s website or directly from their office.
- Fill out the form with all the necessary details.
- Submit the completed form in person at your nearest distributor’s office.
-
Through Customer Care: You can also contact the call center of your LPG distributor. Follow the instructions provided by the operator to complete the linking process over the phone.
The verification process is typically completed in a short time. Once your linking is successful, you will receive a confirmation message via email and SMS on your registered contact details. It’s a quick and essential step to ensure you continue to receive uninterrupted LPG services and all the associated benefits.
