Actually, this incident happened on 18th October, when a cultural program was organised at Kunjapuri fair on the occasion of Navratri. With the viral video on Instagram, it is being claimed that Daler Mehndi was called to entertain the people, but his voice started faltering on the stage. It is being alleged that the singer was drunk, due to which he was having difficulty singing.

It can be seen in the viral video that as soon as Daler Mehndi starts singing, Minister Subodh Uniyal reaches the stage and interrupts him. The minister says, “Religious celebrations of Maa Durga’s worship and Navratri are being organised here. It is not appropriate to present a program under the influence of alcohol on such a holy occasion.” Apart from this, he also said, “Aapse bola toh nahi raha hai, what song will we sing?” And “We invited you by paying so much money so that our people can be entertained, but you are fooling them”.

When the minister was getting angry at him, the singer stood silently and later, very politely, he said to the minister, “Sir, I request you with folded hands… please get down from the stage”.
