If you are taking advantage of government ration or any scheme, then complete this work immediately by June 30, 2025. The government has made it mandatory for all ration card holders to get e-KYC i.e. ‘Know Your Customer’ done. Its last date is now June 30, 2025. That is, you have only a few days left now.

If you do not get the e-KYC done by this date, then your ration card may be canceled. Also, the cheap or special ration you get will stop. This step has been taken by the government to ensure transparency and a corruption-free distribution process so that only genuine and needy people can get the benefit.

Why is e-KYC of ration card necessary

The government’s aim is to make the ration distribution process transparent and corruption-free! It has been seen many times that some people take advantage of ration with fake ration cards or despite being ineligible. In some cases, ration is taken in the name of a person even after his death.

To stop all these irregularities, the government has started the e-KYC process. Under this process, the identity of the ration card holder and his family members is linked to the Aadhaar card, to ensure that only genuine and needy people get the benefit. This is an extremely important step that will ensure that government assistance reaches the right people.

Deadline extended

Earlier the government had fixed the last date for e-KYC as March 31, 2025. However due to technical difficulties and lack of information, many people faced problems. Therefore, now this date has been extended to June 30, 2025. This gives you sufficient time to complete your e-KYC, but there is less possibility of further extension now.

Getting ration card e-KYC done is very easy and there are two main methods:
