Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat Express: Big news for railway passengers. MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal brought up a significant matter in the Lok Sabha under Rule 377. He urged for the operation of Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat Express trains from Chhapra Junction and Siwan Junction. The MP emphasized that this is a long-overdue requirement for the area. He stated that this request is closely tied to the public’s interest. The issue raised in the House has ignited fresh hope in the region. Residents are now looking forward to the central government’s decision.

Needs of Saran division and border areas

The MP clarified that his parliamentary constituency, Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency, is situated in the Saran division of northern Bihar. It encompasses the Siwan and Saran (Chhapra) districts, which are adjacent to the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. As a border town, there is considerable movement of individuals between the two states. Thousands commute for jobs, education, and business. Hence, enhanced rail services have become a crucial necessity here. Chhapra and Siwan Junction are regarded as the lifelines of this area.

2 important centers of North Eastern Railway

Chhapra Junction and Siwan Junction serve as key stations on the North Eastern Railway. A large number of passengers transit through these stations every day. During festive seasons, managing the influx of people at these stations poses a challenge. Travelers are concerned about the absence of fast long-distance trains. The MP mentioned that modern train services would alleviate congestion and offer comfortable and safe travel.

Direct connectivity to New Delhi and Kolkata proposed

The MP has requested that a pair of Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat Express trains be operated from Chhapra Junction to New Delhi via Ekma and Siwan. Furthermore, a train from Siwan to Kolkata via Ekma and Chhapra has also been suggested.

He additionally advocated for a pair of trains to run from Chhapra to New Delhi via Manjhi, Ballia, and Varanasi. These routes would directly benefit the vast population of Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Time savings and quicker travel could enhance the region’s development. Strengthened rail connectivity would significantly contribute to the area’s growth.

Hope related to the pace of self-reliant India

The MP said that modern trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat are being expanded across the country under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission. These trains, which cover long distances in short periods of time, are becoming the preferred choice of passengers.

Therefore, this important region of Bihar should not be deprived of this opportunity. He appealed to the government to take a positive decision soon. The people of the region are hopeful that they will soon receive the gift of a high-speed train. Now it remains to be seen when the Vande Bharat Express will run from Siwan and Chapra.
