PM Ujjwala Yojana- In our country, many types of beneficial and welfare schemes are being run by the government. One such scheme is ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’. This scheme is being run by the central government and at present a large number of people are taking advantage of it. Under this scheme, the government provides gas cylinders to the beneficiaries for free. The government started the Ujjwala scheme in the year 2016. The government has also fixed some eligibility criteria for this. Not everyone gets the benefit of the Ujjwala scheme. Men do not get the benefit of PM Ujjwala scheme.
Who gets the benefit of Ujjwala Yojana?
Under this scheme, only women can avail the benefit of free gas cylinder and that too those women who are living below the poverty line. For this, women should have a BPL card. Women holding BPL cards can apply for this scheme. It is worth noting that the age of the applicant woman should be more than 18 years. Also, her bank account should also be linked to the Aadhar card.

E-KYC is mandatory for Ujjwala connection. However, this rule is not mandatory for Assam and Meghalaya. The applicant has to provide Aadhaar card and address proof as identity proof. Apart from this, to avail the benefits of the scheme, ration card issued by the state from which the application is being made, Aadhaar of the beneficiary and adult members of the family, bank account number of the beneficiary, IFSC of the bank and supplementary KYC in support of the status of the family are required.
How to apply for Ujjwala Yojana?
- If you want to join PM Ujjwala Yojana, then first go to the official website of the scheme https://pmuy.gov.in/ .
- Click on the option ‘Apply For New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection’ given here.
- After this, a new page will open in front of you and many options will appear. Here you will get the link to get cylinder from different gas companies.
- In such a situation, click on the box in front of the company whose cylinder you want to buy.
- Then again a new page will open where you will have to fill the applicant’s name, distributor’s name, address, mobile number.
- After this, enter your PIN number here also.
- Now after filling the form you will have to upload your documents.
- Here some documents will be asked from you, upload them here.
- Then finally you have to click on the ‘Apply’ button, after which your application will be completed.
- If everything is found correct, you are given the benefit of free gas cylinder.
