The biggest change is that now the minimum deduction will be made at a percentage rate. Which means, if you cancel the ticket at any time after buying the ticket, you will have to pay a minimum charge of 25 percent of the fare. If you cancel the ticket between 72 hours and 8 hours before the scheduled travel time, you will have to lose 50 percent of the fare. Also, if you cancel the ticket within 8 hours of the train’s departure, you will not get a single penny back. Your entire fare may be lost. You will get a Rajdhani ticket for this money. With the amount of money deducted for canceling a Vande Bharat Sleeper train ticket, you can get a confirmed Rajdhani Express ticket on many routes. Suppose, a passenger books a long-distance Vande Bharat Sleeper train ticket for Rs. 4,000. If he cancels the ticket 72 to 8 hours before, he will be charged around Rs 2,000. With this amount, you can get a third AC ticket in Rajdhani Express or in many cases, a second AC ticket. How is this rule different from other trains? The ticket cancellation rules for Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are quite different from other trains and the current Vande Bharat Chair Car trains. In regular trains, a fixed flat fee is charged for cancelling a ticket before the scheduled departure time. For example, Rs 240 is charged for First AC, Rs 200 for Second AC, Rs 180 for Third AC, Rs 120 for Sleeper and Rs 60 for Second Class. The cancellation charges are fixed irrespective of the distance. However, in Vande Bharat Sleeper, instead of a flat charge, a fixed percentage will be charged.
