Monsoon Update โ€“ Thunderstorm and Rain Alert in 7 States, Know the Forecast

Monsoon Update: The cold has subsided significantly in most parts of the country, bringing some relief to residents. The weather is now expected to worsen in many areas. Rain is expected in seven states until February 18th, disrupting normal life.

Strong winds and lightning are also expected. Snowfall is still being experienced in many parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. Due to the snowfall, temperatures are being recorded below freezing in many places.

Monsoon Alert

Northwest India may see a rise in temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming week. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and lightning in several states.

Heavy rain warning in these states

According to the IMD, the impact of the cold has subsided significantly. Rain is expected to be a disaster. According to the IMD, heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms is expected in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand in northern India.

A moderate to heavy rain alert has been issued for Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. Heavy rain is expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on February 16 and 17, while heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh on February 17 and 18.

Monsoon Alert

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Punjab, Haryana, and northern Rajasthan on February 17 and 18. An alert has also been issued for light rain at some locations in western Uttar Pradesh on February 17 and 18. Light to moderate rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh on February 18 and 19.

Rain alert in these districts

According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of winter fog has significantly reduced. An alert for light to moderate and dense fog has been issued in Agra, Orai, Ayodhya, Badaun, Baghpat, Ballia, Balrampur, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Jalaun, Kanpur, and Lucknow.

A fog warning has also been issued for Gurugram, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Hisar, Rohtak, and Karnal districts in Haryana, with visibility significantly reduced in the morning. In Punjab, fog may hinder vehicle movement in Amritsar, Patiala, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, and Pathankot. Dense fog is also expected in Kangra, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Mandi, Hamirpur, Una, Sirmaur, and Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh.

Uttarakhand Weather

The IMD has also predicted worsening weather in Uttarakhand on February 17th and 18th. A rain alert has been issued for Uttarakhand on February 17th and 18th. Among them, an alert has been issued for Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. The level of snowfall is still going to continue in the mountains, where there is no hope of getting relief at all.
