So to get rid of that problem and to give relief to women by removing the soot from the kitchen, the central government has provided free Ujjwala Gas Connection. As a result of this initiative of the government, the common man can now easily take the benefit of Ujjwala Gas Connection. But now the central government has brought new guidelines for this project. And that has hit the common man hard.
New guidelines for Ujjwala Gas Yojana Center
Recently, the central government has informed that several guidelines are being introduced for Ujjwala Gas Connection. It has been clearly stated in it that if a customer has his own three or four-wheeler or fishing boat, he will not get the benefits of the project. This does not end here, the Centre has also said that if someone has a house with a carpet area of 30 square meters, has three-four wheeler agricultural machinery and if any member of the family earns Rs 10,000 per month, then he will not be given a gas connection under the Ujjwala Yojana. In this case, the dealers have been given the responsibility of examining the application. It has also been informed that if someone hides anything, then the dealers will have to take responsibility for it. This has put a lot of pressure on the dealers.

Dealers under pressure over guidelines
Dealers claim that if all the guidelines sent by the central government are followed, many poor families will be deprived of the benefits of this government scheme. Not only that, it is very difficult to run a family on 10 thousand rupees per month in this market of rising prices.
In that case, it is said that if they earn more than 10 thousand rupees, they will not be given a gas connection. That is why many are being excluded from this scheme. Many have bought Totos on loans from various places to earn a living. Many people buy all these vehicles to meet the expenses of running a family. But there too, the center has given a red signal. As a result, only three to four applications have been submitted so far.

Incidentally, the gas-producing company said that in the previous phase, many ‘rich’ families got the benefits of the Ujjwala Gas Yojana. But after getting the gas connection, many did not take up the cylinders. Therefore, the dealers were instructed to identify all those families and take back the cylinders.
As a result, there was a lot of trouble between the dealers and the customers. That is why several new conditions have been imposed this time. In this context, Rajiv Bhowmik, a gas dealer from Purba Burdwan, said, “A few consumers have applied for the Ujjwala Yojana. They will be given connections only after examining them. Of course, consumers will have to follow them.”
