Big news for govt worker’s. December 15 is the last date for employees appointed in the current financial year to activate their EPFO Universal Account Number (UAN). If the employees do not activate their UAN, they will not be able to avail the benefits of the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI Scheme).
In the Union Budget 2024-2025, it was announced that it will be mandatory for all eligible employees to have their Universal Account Number and link their Aadhaar number to the bank account to avail the benefits of this scheme. UAN can be easily activated online sitting at home.
How can PF account holders activate UAN number?
Step 1:
If you have not activated the UAN number of your PF account yet, first of all visit the official website of EPFO unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/. Here you will see many options, out of which click on ‘Important Links’.
Step 2:
Now click on the ‘Activate UAN’ option. After this, a new page will open where you will have to fill your UAN number or member ID. After this, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Step 3:
Now fill in your name and date of birth then enter your 10 digit mobile number (linked to your Aadhaar card). After this, fill in the captcha code appearing on the screen. Now select Consent and click on ‘Get Authorization Pin’. After this, your UAN number will be activated.
