Subsidy Scheme Update: Rs 102 Crore Received for Housing Project! Funds Coming This Month

This month, the state government is going to give one-time money to the beneficiaries for the Bangla Awas Yojana. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will officially launch this work at a function in Kolkata. She will also personally hand over checks to some beneficiaries from across the state. Before that, the state government has started sending the allocation to the districts. So that the money can be sent directly to the beneficiaries’ accounts only after the Chief Minister’s announcement. In Cooch Behar, an allocation of more than Rs 102 crore has been sent to the Zilla Parishad.

Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad Additional Executive Officer Soumen Dutta said, ‘After all the disbursements, 1 lakh 86 thousand beneficiaries of the district will get allocation for the Bangla Bari project. Out of which, 1 lakh 67 thousand beneficiaries have been allocated.

The money will go to the beneficiaries’ accounts only after the Chief Minister’s announcement. Each beneficiary will be given the first installment of Rs 60,000 out of Rs 1 lakh 20,000.’ And the date of the state assembly elections will be announced in a few days. Before that, the state government will once again provide houses to the poor under the Awas Yojana project.

1 lakh 86 thousand families of Cooch Behar who are on the waiting list of the Awas Yojana list will get houses. For the last few years, the people of the state have not been getting government houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana project.

However, in 2024, the state government itself decided to provide Awas Yojana houses to the residents of this state.
