Silver Price Today: Gold and silver prices are fluctuating daily. Prices for both gold and silver are rising daily. In Chennai, the price of one kilogram of silver has reached ₹2,24,000. Compared to yesterday, silver’s price has increased by ₹12,000 today. Silver prices reached an all-time high for the second consecutive day on December 18th. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 1 kg of silver increased by ₹1,609 to ₹2,01,250 per kg. Previously, it had closed at ₹1,99,641 on December 17th. Yesterday, silver crossed the ₹2 lakh per kg mark for the first time. It opened at ₹2,00,750 yesterday morning.

One primary reason for the surge in silver prices is that it has outperformed gold in 2025. While gold prices have increased by approximately 65 per cent, silver has returned more than 120 per cent. Experts believe that silver’s strength is driven not only by demand as a safe investment but also by rising industrial consumption, particularly in the green energy sector.
