Ration Card e-KYC Online: The National Food Security Act (NFSA) made it mandatory for ration card holders to link it with Aadhaar. There were many people who have not done so and the government gave them time till March 31, 2025 for Aadhaar authentication. One thing is certain from this that this update is a very important step.
Let us tell you that this linkage is also necessary for many government schemes, including Mahila Samridhi Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana and Ayushman Bharat Yojana. How to do KYC from mobile
- First of all download My eKYC app from Google Play Store.
- Whereas iPhone users will have to install the AadhaarFaceRD app.
- After this open My eKYC app and give location and camera access to the app.
- Now select your region/state/union territory.
- After that enter your Aadhaar number and tap on Generate OTP button.
- Now OTP will come on your registered mobile number.
- Then enter the OTP and captcha given on the screen.
- Here you will see your details like name, home state, district and Aadhaar eKYC status and approval.
- After this, tap on Face eKYC.
- Tap on the Agree button to give consent to share your ration card details with UIDAI.
- Now tick the box and tap on the Next button.
- Here the scanner/camera will open, and you will see a circle on the screen. Place your face within the circle on the screen.
- Once scanned, the eKYC status appears on the screen.
How to check Ration Card e-KYC on mobile
Open the My eKYC app and enter your location, Aadhaar number, OTP and captcha.
Once you have done all this, in the user details section you will see Y next to the eKYC status.
Why Ration Card E-KYC is necessary
- Aadhaar card authentication through this e-KYC process helps the government to identify fake or duplicate ration cards and remove them. Hence, only the rightful users get the benefits.
- It can also help in improving ration supply in Public Details System (PDS).
- Since ration cards are for the economically weaker people in the society, the related financial schemes can also be distributed properly.
