Process of Saving Scheme Account Freeze

The post office will do the process of freezing the savings scheme account twice a year, which will affect the customers. The post office has also issued this order on 15 July 2025. According to the new guidelines, it was said that this process can now be started twice every year, from 1st July and 1st January. The most important thing is that this process will be completed within 15 days. The purpose of this process of the post office is that the capital deposited by the people should be completely safe, and no one should misuse it.

This rule of the post office will be applicabltoon those accounts in which no transaction has been done for three years after maturity. That means the accounts that people neither closed nor extended. Now ,such accounts will be frozen. All types of accounts are included in these.

It will be applicable on Time Deposit, Monthly Income Scheme, National Savings Certificate, Senior Citizen Savings, Kisan Vikas Patra Yojana, Public Provident Fund and Recurring Deposit Scheme.

What will happen after the account is frozen?

If the post office freezes your account, then you cannot do any kind of transaction in it. Meaning you can neither withdraw money nor deposit money. You cannot do any kind of transaction. At the same time, online service, standing order or any kind of digital service will be closed. You can restart this account by following a process, where you will need to provide some documents.
