The full budget for the financial year 2025-26 is likely to be presented on February 1. The budget is presented every year on this day. And the preparations for this budget have already started. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has already completed two meetings. On Saturday, December 7, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met farmers’ unions, agricultural economists, and even held a meeting with various farmer organizations (PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana). Through this, some expectations and demands from farmers in the next budget (PM Kisan Yojana) were conveyed.
Emphasis on farmers’ needs
In the 2-hour meeting, the Union Finance Minister held an intensive discussion, had a long and detailed discussion on the needs of farmers. Discussions were held to nourish the financial needs of the agricultural sector and how to provide financial assistance to farmers through this. In discussions with the Finance Minister, various agricultural organizations, Bharat Krishak Samaj Chairman Ajay Bir Jakhar, also tried to emphasize investors to increase the production of agricultural products.

What are the main demands
The most demanded demand from the farmers’ organizations is that the allowance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana should be doubled. Till now, farmers were getting an allowance of Rs 6,000 per year, now the demand is that it should be increased to Rs 12,000.

Small farmers should also be included under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme. Arrangements should be made so that small farmers can get insurance under this scheme without paying any premium.
In addition, the interest rate on loans for farmers should be reduced. There is even a demand that this interest rate be reduced to 1 percent.

The government should take an investment strategy of Rs 1,000 crore every year for the next 8 years to increase the production of agricultural products. As a result, the allowance amount under the Krishak Samman Nidhi Yojana may be increased to Rs 12,000 in this year’s full budget.
